This is a recording of a webinar that took place on February 12, 2020.
Families affected by ectodermal dysplasias in the United States have faced problems for decades in getting their health insurance to pay for the dental care they need. Too often, their claims are rejected because the care is deemed “cosmetic.” Or, families have to fight for years of appeals to get benefits.
In this practical session, Sarah takes you through best practices for how to submit claims. They will share the process their dental office uses for their patients who are affected by ectodermal dysplasias. Feel free to invite your dental providers to register as well! We’ll also take questions from the audience so get yours ready!
You will learn:
- critical things to know regarding medical insurance
- what diagnostic codes you need to use
- about the importance of understanding your benefits
- what documentation you may need for pre-authorization
- how to file a claim and follow-up
