I attended my first NFED National Family Conference in 2009 when it was held in Williamsburg, VA..  Immediately upon going through the doors, I felt a sense of welcoming and family even though I had never met anyone before.  Until my daughter was born in 2007, I had never met or even spoke to anyone else who was affected. Those three days of the conference were the best, most memorable days I had experienced.  The individuals and families I met were among the most amazing people.  Many of those connections have lasted long after that 2009 meeting!

In addition to the personal connections you make with families and NFED staff, you are provided with an incredible amount of information about ectodermal dysplasias.  There are sessions on almost any ectodermal dysplasias topic you can think of.  You can request an appointment to meet personally with medical and dental professionals who can give you information and advice specifically related to you or your family member’s syndrome.  This aspect is especially nice considering that most affected individuals and families are the ones educating the professionals in their hometown.

And of course, there is always the annual Talent Show!  Without question it is the highlight of the conference.  Nowhere else can you see amazing talent from all types of people.  No doubt it will leave you with a smile on your face!

Can’t wait to see you there!
