I am EXCITED to tell you where Family Conference is going to be held for the next four years!

One of our goals is always to enable as many people as we can the opportunity to attend at least one of our Family Conferences – and hopefully, more! We do this by keeping registration fees as low as possible. We also vary the locations each year so that people in different parts of the United States have a shorter distance to travel to attend.

The staff loves getting to see all of you once a year at Conference. As you might expect, having a conference like we have had in Falls Church this week has been an enormous task for a small staff of six and a volunteer crew. Family Conference is also a serious financial commitment for the organization. For both of these reasons, we give a lot of thought into where to have them. Our Board of Directors and staff is pleased to announce that we are trying something new and a little different for the next few years!

In 2018, we are going to Portland, Oregon in June!

This will be a 2-day Family Conference. We haven’t had a national conference in the Pacific Northwest since 1997 so it will be nice to return! It’s a beautiful area of the country with temperatures typically in the low 70s in June. Those of you who can’t sweat love that part, right?! We are grateful to Jack and Paula Kriz, who live in Oregon, for stepping up to help us with the planning.

Family Conference 2018 Location Announcement

In 2019, we will return to the Midwest with a Family Conference in Chicago! We haven’t been to the Windy City for a national conference since 1992. Historically, conferences in the Midwest are well attended because people can more easily drive. We hope this is the case for 2019. Likely, the format will follow our traditional 3-day event.

In 2020, we will be somewhere on the East Coast. We are considering two locations but don’t have enough details yet to announce the winner. This Conference will be a 2-day conference, like the one planned for 2018.

In 2021, we will celebrate our 40th year of service so we will have the Family Conference at our home in St. Louis.

Save these dates. Start planning your trips. We want to see all of you again real soon!

Hi, Janet. There is no difference. We just don’t use the word “national” any more since we draw people from all over the world to these events. You are correct. They are all Family Conferences. We just vary the location. Thanks for asking!

Hi, Laura. We are working hard to secure dates for 2020! It’s been a challenge to find a hotel in Washington D.C. that is affordable for our families for the time frame we need. We hope to announce something as soon as we can! Thanks for your patience and understanding! ~ Jodi, NFED, Director, Marketing and Communications
