Washington D.C. is not just our country’s capitol.  It is filled with delicious places to eat, cultural events and filled with American history. You can find it all in D.C.  Here are just a few of the many places you can visit while you are there during the Stand Together Conference.  You can also view other places to see at the Virginia Tourism and Visitor Center.

Smithsonian Museums

Whether your interests are in culture, art, history, air and space, and more, the Smithsonian Museums are great. Check out the Smithsonian app on your smartphone for additional information specific for each museum and to help plan your visit.

Arlington National Cemetery

This mililtary cemetery stands as a memorial to soldiers beginning from the Civil War to present. Witness the breathtaking tribute at the Tomb of the Unknowns as the Sentinels guard the Tomb.

National Mall

The National Mall is considered to be America’s “front yard.”  It has been an integral location for civic events in American history. 

National Zoo

More than 1,500 animals across 300 different species and many are endangered on 163 acres as part of Washington, D.C.’s Rock Creek Park.

The Yards Park

Cool off along the Anacostia River in the basins of the dancing water fountains.  Enjoy some ice cream, shopping, and shade.  

U.S. Botanic Garden

George Washington’s vision became a reality when the Botanic Garden opened in 1820.  This living museum showcases the importance of plants to maintain a sustainable environment for our planet.
