Each year, we hold our Family Conference that provides life-changing experiences for our families at the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED). Annually, 300 to 400 people from all over the world and the U.S. get to experience that they are no longer alone. They get to connect with other families and talk to doctors who know about these rare syndromes.
2017 is a big year for us! For the first time, we will begin a strong advocacy program which will kick off with an Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. Our NFED families will increase ectodermal dysplasias awareness by educating key staffers on the importance of recognizing dental treatment for the disorders as a medical necessity. It is not a cosmetic procedure.
Families rely on the NFED for answers and a shoulder to lean on so they live happy and productive lives. They’ve shared with us their stories. These experiences at Conference are life-changing and ones they will never forget.
