Are you heading to Falls Church, Virginia, this summer to attend the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias Family Conference? Our veteran attendees have some great tips for you.

  1. Some of the best knowledge you gain is from the interaction with other families.
  2. Ask,ask, ask…anything! Write down all your questions so you don’t forget. Everyone is there to help. None are silly and no one will be offended.
  3. We all come together to educate, empower, encourage, up lift, laugh with, learn with, learn from, and love each other.
  4. Get ready for an emotional journey of realizing you are not alone on this path and you never have to feel that way again.
  5. Get ready to meet your new family that you never knew you had and will now never want to live without.
  6. Come prepared to take it all in. Ask questions, socialize, plan to cry or to be cried on.
  7. Bring open arms that are ready for hugs.
  8. Bring tissues.
  9. It is an incredibly emotional experience where new friends and new information will amaze you.
  10. Attend as many events as you can.
